"Wishing on a tear" by Valarie ´FaerieLight´ Connell


	This faerie stops to make a wish on a fresh human tear. This is also being submit for the art show. I was happy with the way this one came out also. Done in prismacolor markers, colored pencils, and watercolor pencils. Touch ups done in photoshop 7.0. Prints and other items can be purchased at: www.cafepress.com/otherworld_art

7 May 2005	J. Oliver	Loading... She's excellently drawn, and the wings are very beautiful as usual. I'm not sure about the border - it's very heavy and severe looking for such a light picture. The blades of grass should be on a larger scale, don't you think? Even larger than the way you have them, just judging by the size of the human tear... But you don't want them to cover her up completely, I understand that! It seems a realistic thing for a faerie to want to do - wish upon a human tear - just because you wouldn't find a human tear every day, it would be like a shooting star to us. Valarie ´FaerieLight´ Connell replies: "Thanks for leaving another wonderful comment. I do appreciate the artistic opinions. I agree with you about the grass, but that was hard to keep from covering her up . The border is not the original color, it was touched-up in photoshop. Ya, the human tear idea just jumped in my head more then half way thought drawing the picture."

I think you did a good job on anatomey, exluding a few tiny things here and there, like her bumby left foot and a bit smallish right hand. I like her reflection in the tear. Keep it up.
